Donna Brazile, a fine woman

June 2, 2008

Donna Brazile, a superdelegate and member of the DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee, gives it to Clinton supporter Governor Blanchard by saying: “My mama taught me to play by the rules and respect the rules…” “When you decide to change the rules, especially, in the middle of the game, it’s called cheating.” Ouch.

The Presidential race’s goalpost has changed again, this time by the DNC itself, to accomodate Michigan and Florida (finally). Its now 2,117 delegates to win instead of 2,025. The latest score is Obama 2,063, Clinton 1,906.5 according to Kos. Puerto Rico ysterday was the last stop in the race. Grand finale’s this Wednesday. Can’t wait.

Yeah, your mama said that! Tell that to those who’ve stopped listening to what God said long time ago. It’s been the law of the jungle for so long now. Who cares for what mama said anymore? Especially when the stakes are so high, and the takes are even higher?

Amen to that, LC. Just think what society will be like a hundred years from now, post-oil with global warming and all that.

My mama taught me that calling someone a “cheater” – well those are “fightin” words. The “rules” allow candidates to petition the “rules” committee….no cheatin’ here. In Texas, we broke just about every rule in our caucus while trying to keep everyone calm and assure them that it was in the best interest of our party and our country. The “rules” were creating more chaos because the rule makers didn’t anticipate that so many people would show up. Listening to Donna Brazile continue her “cheater” message on NPR made me angry. Those of us at the bottom who have been trying to keep peace in this party and move forward without anger and resentment are very tired of our so-called leaders kicking us in the foot. Can we be a party that includes many “cultures” because this election is more about cultures than race or gender. Who will lead us? Not Donna Brazile!
