Dudes, what happened?

May 2, 2009

So we looked at the list of final year students from this college. My friend had just received the green light to get a couple of ’em on board his company for industrial training (internships as we call them in the US).

He showed me this Excel table with the students’ name, nationality, sex, major, cgpa. Had them sorted out according to cgpa (cumulative grade point average). Of the 30-odd names, the top 15 were all gals. The guys… gawsh it was downright embarrassing to see their cgpa’s. All of ’em pwned.

Now I don’t know if it was just that particular college (can’t reveal the name, sorry) but in my college, the Dean’s List had always been a mixed bag. You’d be on it if your cgpa was 3.75 or better. No gender was under-represented. Not when I was there anyway.

So this was the first time I’ve seen it go down this way. All himbos, no bimbos.

Guys, you know what that means right? More lady bosses. Not that I mind, hehe. πŸ˜€

So dudes, what were you doing all semester man? Playing hookey? Or are the girls here more academically gifted?

Anybody got a clue if this is actually the trend here?

Don’t really know what goes on elsewhere. But what I think happening over here is that most boys are happily being pampered over girls. Talk about the changing world, I don’t think it’s happening at all. And the girls have to work doubly hard to prove their worth, and fight for every piece of ground. So, they end up, “Hey! What have we done? Where are the boys?”

Or, the boys are just too distracted by all that technological gadgetry, they forgot academics.

Yeah, maybe its the scattered mind syndrome. Could it spell the end of male domination in the workforce?

Mmm, most of the first class students in my uni were gals. πŸ˜€ i think they can focus more on studies? but again, most of them are not so good when it comes to technical stuff like assignments and projects.

Easy. When the ladies become bosses, they’ll get the guys to do all the tech stuff. Who knows, the day when male receptionists and male tea “ladies” make the scene might come sooner than we think, LOL. πŸ˜€

well , better for us . we can only hire hot chicks in our company

and we got a good excuse not to hire guys . what gender discrimination ?

But will chicks haul those heavy amps up the stairs to your shop though? πŸ˜€

male ‘tea’ ladies? =_= what about male PA and male secretaries? 😐

ok, that sounds so gay. better stop. =_=

You mean you haven’t you been served by a male tea lady before… at the mamak stall? πŸ˜€

I’ve always wondered what happened to the ladies in their trade, cuz I’ve never seen a single woman in an Indian coffee shop.

Hmmm, maybe the “tea” ladies prefer working in air-conditioned room?

eh, those are tea “uncles”, not “aunties” or “ladies”.

Haha, if the trend in education is serious, the ladies will soon end up in the airconditioned offices and fill all positions from tea lady to CEO while the men will end up sweating it out in the sun.
