Unwritten tech laws you must obey

August 14, 2009

Fix a computer for a friend or family member and you’ll be tech support for life.

Or how about if you close the PC case with screws before testing, it won’t work. If you test before closing, it will.

Read the full monty on the unwriten laws governing your usage of technology. Hilarious! 😀

LOL . About Fix a computer for a friend or family member and you’ll be tech support for life

me and a childhood friend started guitaring together when we were 13 . Both of us love guitar .
The church noticed our talent , and yes we were drag to play for the worship team. Both of us enjoyed what we were doing.

Later , My friend’s hand got itchy , he wanted to learn piano just for fun .
He tried playing for worship and wow , it was good.
Today , he plays piano for church every week . He is gonna be a pianist for life .
And me , i still play guitar for church 😛 Sometimes , the lesser things we know , the better 🙂

Haha, talent has its downsides but if you are untalented, the chicks won’t be impressed. So how?

“Fix a website for a friend or family member and you’ll be a web developer for life.”

Hhaha, actually that’s what I have been doing in the past week. Putting together a website for the Turtle Conservation Centre ( that I am helping setup, with whatever little HTML and CSS knowledge that I have, LOL.

Well if its for a good cause, I’m sure the payback will be well worth it.

I’m ‘fixer’ for the family and some ‘others’ around the neighborhood; PCs that don’t run, electrical appliances that screw up, faucets that leak, toilets that don’t flush.
It used to include roofs that leak. Then I said ‘NO’. There’s no insurance covered…
There used to be some ‘others’ who take advantage of this kind soul and call me for every little thing, and I’d go take a peep at whatever and declare it’s not reparable. After a few repeats they get the drift…

Yeah, the curse of being the family handyman, don’t I know it too well! lol. 😀

“Fix a computer for a friend or family member and you’ll be the IT person for life.”

Once you fix it, people assume then you will know everything about IT when in fact, it covers lots of topics in different hardware, software and technologies.

Yup. Its one of those times when being smart doesn’t really pay off.
